🗺️ Detailed Itinerary

Day 1

Guided Fes Medina Tour – Departure to Midelt

Start your morning with a guided walk through the historic Fes Medina, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the largest car-free urban areas in the world. Explore the winding alleys of Fes el-Bali, visit the famous Chouara Tanneries, traditional souks, and historic madrasas. In the early afternoon, depart Fes and travel through the Middle Atlas via Ifrane and the Azrou Cedar Forest, arriving in Midelt for an overnight stay.

Day 2

Midelt – Ziz Valley – Erfoud – Merzouga

After breakfast, continue south through the dramatic Ziz Valley with its gorges and palm oases. Stop in Erfoud, known for its fossil workshops and proximity to the Sahara, before arriving in Merzouga. Enjoy a camel trek across the Erg Chebbi dunes at sunset and spend the night in a traditional desert camp with Berber music and dinner under the stars.

Day 3

Merzouga – Todra Gorge – Dades Valley

Wake up early for a stunning desert sunrise before riding camels back to the village. Drive to the dramatic Todra Gorge, with its towering canyon walls, before continuing to the Dades Valley — known for its rose gardens and unique rock formations — where you'll spend the night in a kasbah-style hotel.

Day 4

Dades Valley – ouarzazate – Ait Ben Haddou – Marrakech

Continue toward ouarzazate, often called the "door of the desert" and home to Morocco's major film studios. Visit the UNESCO-listed Kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou before crossing the High Atlas Mountains via the Tizi n'Tichka Pass, arriving in Marrakech in the evening.

Starting with the Fes Medina tour gave us great context before heading into the desert. The whole 4 days felt perfectly paced — culture, mountains, desert, and dramatic gorges, ending with the spectacular Ait Ben Haddou.

A wonderful way to see so much of Morocco in just 4 days. The tannery visit in Fes was fascinating, and the desert camp was a real highlight. Our guide was patient and made sure we didn't miss anything important.

Ensure your passport is valid for your stay in Morocco and check whether your nationality requires a visa. Save digital copies of your documents on your phone or email.

What to Wear & Bring

Light, breathable clothing works best during the day, while warmer layers are useful for evenings — especially in the desert or mountains. Don't forget sun protection and comfortable shoes.

Climate & Seasons

Desert areas can feel very hot during the day and chilly after sunset, while mountain regions stay cool year-round. Check the forecast before your tour to pack appropriately.

Money & Spending

Major cities accept cards in many places, but cash remains essential in smaller towns. Carry Moroccan dirhams for tips, local purchases, and personal expenses.
